Is there a revised SWR livery being rolled out? Just seen 159 009 at Waterloo with the grey area completely plain - no diagonal stripes.
We are still in the process of rolling out our new livery. We will still have the stripes, however all our trains will be painted in the approved colours before receiving the vinyl wrap, so this may be what you saw. Please see this Wikipedia article that has renderings of the livery on the Class 158, 159 and 444 units - en.wikipedia.org/.../South_Western_Railway_(train_operating_company)
Thanks for the clarification. Were vehicles not previously painted in the base colours before the vinyls were applied?
All of the current SWR- branded trains will have been painted before receiving the vinyl wrap, which is why more trains haven't been finished. This is worth doing as our depot teams can repair any preexisting bodywork damage which will improve the overall finish.
Jack - are you sure this is right. I've just seen 159 010 at Waterloo in the same 'no stripes' scheme. It is fully 'lettered', ie, "South Western Railway", "A First Group/MTR company", etc. Are you really going to put vinyls on over the lettering? Or is this actually a revised livery?
