At the time of the franchise process there were two eye catching promises made to the Portsmouth to London commuters: 1. Faster journey times and 2. End of 3+2 seating on the "fast" trains. What we have seen so far is more, not fewer peak services with 450s and, by adding a Godalming stop to the faster trains the journey times have further increased to something close to 10 minutes longer than they were under BR when I started to commute regularly. Any plans to deliver on the promises made?
Currently being refurbished are class 442 trains which have 2+2 seating. They will be used on Portsmouth fast services from December, although I think they are behind. So that solves one problem. (Hopefully)
Hi Peter, it was nice seeing an update to the work on these being done at first but nothing more since. Will we see updates on the news section or maybe interaction with rail industry magazines?
