If I have a season ticket loaded onto my smartcard, can I still load on other journeys during the active period of my season ticket?
Yes you can for routes not covered by your smart card Season. However proceed with caution as day tickets seem to be very buggy. Always make sure you get a recipt.
I've wanted to do this, but found that, bizarrely, you can't select the Gold Card discount even though other discounts, including Network Railcard can be selected!
As for them being buggy, yes,my annual season gets rejected on a regular basis on SWR readers, yet I don't have any issues with TfL Oyster readers!
