There seems to be some conflicting information from SWT reps on this forum on whether these free travel are still valid,
Please could you clarify this situation as it's very confusing!
Also the FAQ on the website also brings confusion (https://www.southwesternrailway.com/contact-and-help/faqs), implying that we can use any past vouchers as long as we still have a SWR Gold Card, even if it was renewed when the new franchise started.
I hold my hands up to this one, I misunderstood the original communications surrounding the free weekend travel vouchers.
The free weekend travel vouchers are still valid and will be all the time you have a valid gold card with us. We encourage you to use them as soon as possible but they will still be valid even when you renew.
You are able to renew your gold card and this extends the validity of the passes.
In short the answer in the FAQs is correct.
Thanks, David Peterson - that's a very clear answer.
HI David, your response seems to imply that there is no expiry on the free weekend tickets provided one has a valid gold season ticket. I was told by a guard the other day that they would no longer be valid after 31st August. I have loads left and want to be able to use them in the future. Please confirm that they can be used.
I can confirm that there is no expiry date on gold cards and are valid for travel until further notice.
