No more Revenue Inspectors on trains at peak times

  • Why don’t you use the revenue protection teams at peak times? I have spoken to several inspectors over the last few months and they have all confirmed that SWR aren’t doing this. I chose to pay for a first class ticket so I can get a seat but it’s now common knowledge that you will never be challenged at peak times so no guesses as to how this situation is now being abused. What’s the point of spending the extra money? At least when South West Trains had the franchise there would be inspections at peak times by plain clothes revenue protection officers entering the carriage at both ends at the same time. There is no longer any deterrence so it’s now open house. What are South Western Railways going to do about it?
