Is the 8:50 Waterloo-Reading train considered off-peak? It shows up on the website and ticket machines as an off-peak ticket, but the gate guard wouldn't let me in this morning, even though my off-peak ticket was bought specifically for the 8:50 train. They forced me to buy an anytime ticket. This was extremely frustrating. Please clarify.
This train is a peak train according to all the information I can find, so I believe the price displayed is an error. I have contacted our Pricing Manager to confirm this and will contact you again when I receive a response.
It has now been confirmed as an error and will be updated as soon as possible to avoid this happening again. Sorry for the frustration caused previously.
How on earth is this a peak service when it is travelling in the contra-peak direction, and a majority of its route is after 0900?!
