Why is the quality of information provided about services so poor?
This morning travelling from Guildford to Waterloo, at 5:34 the station screens showed the 5:49, Guildford to Waterloo as being "on time". Yet SWR had issued a tweet at 5:23 explaining that "Due to a points problem between Petersfield and Guildford the London bound line is blocked."
Whilst delays and cancellations are highly frustrating, I accept that some of these are out of SWR's controls. Providing accurate consistent information is within SWR's control yet time and time again, it fails to provide paying customers with correct information.
Why spend huge amounts of money refitting carriages (don't get me started on those charging boxes that dig into your legs) if you can't even tell customers where the carriages are?
