What steps are being taken to prevent spammers on these forums. It is annoying when I see new replies to topics I have been following to see they are just from spammers.
A year later, and the forum is still being plagued by spam!
How do we report spam, and what steps are being taken to moderate postings and remove spam?
A quick check on recent topics shows that of the most recent postings, 7 are spam and 3 are real enquiries or comments. It looks unprofessional and that First/MTR don't care about their business.
If you can't pay for a moderator or two, is it something which someone from a Community Rail Partnership could assist with? Maybe a couple of hours per week deleting spam posts or locking threads would make the point and make the forum easier to browse. Just an idea to try at a stakeholder meeting ......
I have reported the problems with the Forum and the lack of interest shown by SWR on this to Passenger Focus. They monitor the franchise and SWR generally.

It has worked - the spam has gone, but it does show how the forum is nearly moribund....
Hello Romsey, I've previously brought this to the attention of management and a temporary fix has been implemented. All posts containing links are moderated now, which has helped to alleviate the spam. I'm very sorry for the inconvenience, it's frustrating but the issue is being investigated.
