I have complained three times now and I am tired of being woken up by trains sounding horns for no reason from as early as 05:30 and as late as 23:30 - this is affecting me and many others. Never in the history of me living in this area have we ever been disturbed as we are now. It happens without fail, there is no real reason for this nor is there a need. It's been the same for weeks now and my life is becoming unbearable, I am already seeking to move area, but in the meantime I will pursue this complaint until I get a satisfactory result.
The moment the courts open I will be placing an action against you South Western Railway. I will also be contacting the environmental health and making sure this complaint is taken seriously.
Acoustically, in the area I live the sound is amplified to a massive degree. Having lived here for over 8 years never have I experienced such ignorance. The trains themselves are not an issue, but the way in which the train drivers are sounding the horns would make anyone think children are driving them. I have complained without any reply or response from you and now it's time for me to take this matter into my own hands.
I am sick and tired, quite literally of this ignorance and will not stop until I get a result.
Hi, I am sorry to hear that you are having a problem with train horns in your local area, there are a number of reasons why trains will need to sound their horn - all of which are safety related.
Although you are welcome to contact anyone with regards to this I would recommend checking out www.networkrail.co.uk/.../ and make contact with Network Rail before taking action.
No sorry, I am taking action, you have no idea how ridiculous it has become, for safety reasons, I can accept, but every single time they pass?, in the same place? every 20-30 mins? seriously? no, I have lost so much sleep as I work rotating shifts and this has become unbearable, it was never like this until very recently. Thank you for at least responding, but sadly my patience is worn, your drivers are showing zero respect for the residents in this area and I have had all I can take. It's incredibly childish and my patience wore out weeks ago. If I don't take action now, this is going to go on as it has been relentless for weeks solid now. Hopefully I can find somewhere else to live, which is a shame as I love it here, but I won't tolerate this ever. I will be able to move eventually, others in this area are not so fortunate to be able to do so and I will be complaining on behalf of them also.
Hi, did you contact our Customer Service team and lodge a formal complaint? If so if you can please provide the reference number I can ask Customer Relations to contact you.
Hi, following on from my earlier message, normally drivers should not sound their horn before 0600 or after 2330. However, this does not apply when there are track workers in view or anyone on the track. If you could please advise me of the approximate area you live and this is occuring and I can make some enquiries.
I have complained three times, you are telling me you have zero record of this? Seriously? What kind of organisation are you? I live in Dorchester, but not posting all my details here, are you really that stupid? The problem persists and I have completed the first of two applications/claims. Both will be filed today. Rest assured.
